I cannot express in words the beauty the stained concrete has brought to our home. When we purchased our home and closed, the previous owners had issues with their movers busting a pipe to move out their washer and dryer. That incident led to a plumber coming out while in the meantime turning off the water main at the street to do the repairs and the movers finishing the move. What did NOT happen was the previous owners did not verify the water tube to the ice maker was completely shut off and it flooded out new home! After about a week of going back and forth with the previous owners, we called our insurance company to come assess the damage. With the piece of carpet that was damaged and how far out the carpet went, from the formal living to the entryway/staircase and on back in to our master bedroom; along with damage to the walls, baseboards, etc. the damage was closing in to over $10 grand. After looking at what it would cost just have the carpet redone with carpet or a wood or laminate and knowing how beautiful my friend’s concrete floors are, I decided to look in that direction. After getting large quotes from a couple of other stained concrete companies, I found Artisan Decocrete and thank goodness I found them. Brad came and met with my husband and then promptly turned around a quote when comparing apples to oranges and knowing that concrete would be forever vs. putting something in that would soon need to be replaced for the same amount…yea, we went with the stained concrete! We couldn’t be more pleased with our decision. Brad’s crew, Mario and his name escapes me, came in and started the demo and removal of the entire first floor, including our kitchen, office, several closets, master bedroom/bath, half bath and laundry room, all in all, was roughly 1700 almost 1800/sq. ft. of flooring. We knew the job was going to take a couple of weeks, Brad and his crew went over every step of their process with us, not once leaving us in the dark or misleading us with the timeframe it would take to demo, micro-finish, stain and then wax for the shine we were looking for. We actually had a stopping point with our floors, but it only took 2 extra days for peace of mind, but the floors looked like they were allowing moisture in the slab. After a test by a slab person, it turned out to be okay and the work moved on. Every step of the way were told what was going to happen, not once being left in the dark. Day after day, my husband and I went by the new house to check on the progress being made and we were always at awe at the amount of work getting down each and every day. In the end, we could not be more pleased with the outcome. We had our first house warming this last weekend and everyone envied the floors…look out Brad, gave your number out.
Thank you, Brad… we could not have asked for a more professional team of guys you have nor could we have imagined how beautiful our floors were going to be, we couldn’t be any happier!!!
